About the course
MCom (Master of Commerce) in Computer Application is a 2-year Postgraduate Course. The course is taught both as a full-time course and as distance learning.
Introduction of the Programme This is a two-year full-time Post Graduate degree in Commerce with information technology, under semester pattern. This Course is for the non-autonomous colleges affiliated to Madurai Kamaraj University. This course enables the students to work in the corporate world, with the existence of automation and e-business, to pursue research programme, professional courses and to become an entrepreneur.
Master of Commerce in Computer Application includes 5 subjects, Database Management Accounting, Marketing Management, Object-Oriented Programming with C++, E-Commerce, Cost and Management Accounting. The course also provides students with electives they can choose from.
The course graduates can pursue MPhil/PhD or take up an occupation related to the subject. Job roles offered to graduate are Budget Analyst, Finance Manager, Book Keeper, Chief Information Officer, Mutual Funds Broker, Business Consultant, System Designers, Managers, and much more.
Eligibility
- Candidates must have completed a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from a recognised university.

Job Roles
- Budget Analyst:The role of a Budget analyst is to evaluate different budget proposals and determine the most favourable allocation of funds among the projects. They are responsible for evaluating spending requirements and making cost benefiting proposals.
- Accountant:Accountants are the book-keepers and interpreters of financial records. They take responsibility for work related to finance sectors. They can work for individual clients or with large organizations or companies.
- Management Consultant:This is a problem-solving job where the consultants are required to meet with the clients for discussion on the problem and then suggest improvements and solutions. To develop solutions, they also perform qualitative and quantitative analysis.
- Computer Programmer:Their main role is to write codes for computers and applications. Other responsibilities include maintaining, troubleshooting and debugging the soft wares and systems to ensure the smooth running of the work.
